Blue Hen Pottery – Estonian Academy of Art – East Carolina University – North Carolina Pottery Center working together to build a kiln, strengthen old relationships while building new ones, based on ceramic history and education.

SCHEDULE:

Nov. 7 – 11 kiln building workshop at Blue Hen Pottery. Students from Estonian Academy of Art and East Carolina University are working together to get hands on experience, and learn about kiln design. Instructor Andres Allik is a master kiln builder from Estonia. Seagrove community potters and our friends are welcome to come and see the progress of the kiln building.

Nov. 8 – Slide presentations and Pot-Luck at North Carolina Pottery Center, 6pm -until.

Nov. 14 – 15: First firing of the Bourry Box Kiln at Blue Hen Pottery.

Nov. 16 – 17: Slide presentations, reception of Estonian Ceramics exhibition at East Carolina University, Greenville

Nov. 18 – Reception of exhibition “Transparent Kiln” at North Carolina Pottery Center, 12PM- 2PM. This exhibition will showcase the work from the Blue Hen Pottery’s first kiln firing.
